    Hi support team,

Whenever we try to install/uninstall a component, via Help -> Choose Components… an network disruption error/alert is pop up.
    Is this an expected behavior?

For more information, please check the attachment.

    Thanks.

    eugenetsc,

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Can you please answer some more questions for us?

    1. Is this happening for quite some time or just for a short period ?
    2. Please attach the .log file which is located at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log to help us investigate further.

    Sorry for inconvenience caused.

    Yes.

    1. We installed MyEclipse 2013 recently, since last few days. Detected the issue yesterday when trying with the optional MyEclipse component features.

Not sure if it related to network proxy (but suprisingly the network proxy is working as expected for other options, e.g Install from catalog, Install from sites, Check Updates…).

Without a network proxy environment, the issue is NOT replicable.

    2. Please find the log file as attached.

    Eugene,

We’ve seen the issue in some situations we’ve tried but not in a consistent way and not with a proxy.

Can you confirm that this isn’t a problem for you, as you can still get components added or deleted by clicking the Continue link? That seems to be what you described in the document attached to your first post.

It’s not clear if you’ve seen this problem every time you’ve used the Choose Components dialog. Did you remove or add any components before seeing the issue? If so, please let us know which components were added or deleted before the message started to appear.

    Eugene,

I spoke to my network team and they mentioned that the Native proxy connection technique could be a little problematic, especially if you have an authenticated proxy – Eclipse does not handle the authentication stage correctly.

We are working on improving the detection and error reporting in this stage, but could you try using the Manual setting instead of the Native setting in your proxy configuration and tell us if that resolves your issues?

    Thanks for writing in.

    Hi support,

With manual setting resulted the same error.
However, this is not a showstopper, where we are still able to continue the component installation/uninstallation.
