Is it possible to install into a directory other than program files?

I am using the 7.5 all-in-one installer and even though I specify a different directory during install for the 2 directories I could change, it still puts about 150 megs of stuff in c:\Program Files\Genuitec.

It does put about 1 gig or so into the directory I specified, but I want the entire install on my D: drive. I was able to do this with the older versions of eclipse and myeclipse I have been using.

    dkuehner,
Yes it is possible to install MyEclipse into a directory other than program files. You can customize MyEclipse install location. Please refer to this tutorial here http://www.myeclipseide.com/documentation/quickstarts/install/. ME7.5 has two path configuring options – one for the profile and the other for the commons dir. Make sure both are configured to the desired locations.

MyEclipse will create some files used for system configurations to the default location of C:\program files\Genuitec, to change this open pulse2.locator file and change the default location to your desired location. Look for the file here – C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\.pulse2.locator

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you. I already used the install time options. I’ll check the .pulse.locator file and see what I can do there.

I presume that I just need to change the pointers in that file and move the Genuitec directory from the c:\program files to where I want it.

This is correct. All you do is move the genuitec directory from c:\program files to your desired location and change the pointer in the .pulse.locator file.
