Thank you for your interest in DevStyle.

To successfully install DevStyle to IDE’s based on Eclipse, you need to add the Eclipse update site to the Available Software Sites list.

Please add this update site for Oxygen http://download.eclipse.org/releases/oxygen/ here in the IDE : Window > Preferences > Install/Update > Available Software Sites and click ‘Apply and Close’.

Once done try installing DevStyle again and check if it installs fine. If you are still seeing issues, then please share with us more details about the IDE on which you are trying to install DevStyle to help us investigate further.

Apologies for inconvenience caused. Please let us know how it works for you.

I can’t get DevStyle to install on my Eclipse-based IDE.

I’m currently using an IDE that is based on Eclipse 4.7.1 (Oxygen).

I’m missing a few packages apparently from this installation:

org.apache.commons.httpclient 3.1.0
org.eclipse.wst.common.frameworks 0.0.0

Does anyone know how to get around this? I can’t find the second package at all.

Thanks,
-achevula

Unfortunately, we’re unable to verify this internally because we are unable to reproduce the problem at our end.

We have put out the fix on our pre-release stream, and would be very grateful if you could try it immediately, and let us know if it fixes the prompt, and if your chosen theme continues to be functional.

Please follow the DevStyle specific instructions on the following page to get the pre-release update.
https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/webclipse-angular-ide-prerelease-stream/

Appreciate any notes you can provide. Thanks!

There’s definitely a bug here – do you mind sharing your error log with us?

You can find it at [workspace_location]/.metadata/.log

Since the latest update whenever I start Eclipse I receive a popup that says “Given how DevStyle intercepts certain components of this IDE, it is recommended to restart now.”

If I restart everything is fine and I can continue to work. Cancelling the popup also does not seem to cause problems. I’m guessing that the appearance of this popup is a bug.

Trying to create my own theme by XML, downloaded some online and started editing, but I’m wondering if there is a master list of things in Eclipse that can have their colour changed, as well as the corresponding XML tag? For instance, “interface, enum, method,” … etc.

Specifically, I’m looking for the Eclipse run console colours, quick diff colours, etc.

Thanks,

Jesse

Thanks again!

Eclipse Version: Neon.3 Release (4.6.3)
Build id: 20170314-1500

Decided to dive in myself since the thing has gotten on my nerves all the time … seemingly you have had some reports here in the forum for the same occasions.

com.genuitec.eclipse.theming.css_1.10.0.201801162128/css/include/partstyle.css

These two rules are the cause of the editor-background being overriden all the time:

I couldn’t exactly find out why they do so but removing those two actually got the editor background to work again. Before that no matter what the default value was weirdly overriden to 250,250,250 (#fafafa) for whatever reason … maybe it’s related to your engine parsing the rules in a wrong way / hiccups?

Cheers!
