What is a Certified Pack?Our Certified Plugin pack is a collection of some of the most popular Eclipse plugins available. We certify the integrity of the downloads and ensure the bits are intact.

Why would I want it?It's likely your developers are using OSS/Eclipse plugins already. Rather than setting up your tool stack by going out and finding each plugin individually, the Certified Pack gives you a clean place to find the most common plugins.

How do I get it?Simple. Just download SDC for your specific server and developer tooling. Then, be sure to select that you'd like the plugins pack on your custom downloads page (a link will be sent to you via email). You'll then be able to add software in the Certified Pack to your tool stacks from the SDC dashboard.
Note: if you already have SDC installed, you'll need to update SDC to the January 2012 (or greater) release to take advantage of the Certified Pack. Do this by visiting your custom download links page and use the double-click installer. If you don't know your custom downloads link, please contact sales.

How do you decide what's popular?The pack is based on download and usage statistics from the Eclipse Foundation. We don't judge how "good" a plugin might be. We just include what your developers are most likely to ask for based on historic trends.

How much does it cost?Nothing. The Certified Pack is provided free of charge (with your SDC subscription) to help your developers get up and going as fast as possible. Why? Because you don't need to waste time going and finding plugins and hoping they'll work. You're welcome.

How do I install it?The pack is an optional download that you can install at any time in your SDC setup process. You're not required to include it - it just saves some time when you go hunting for popular OSS plugins.

How often will it be updated?While we can't set an exact number of days between updates, the pack will be updated quarterly to re-certify plugins that may have updated in the previous three months or so.
