Unknown AuthorParticipantWith the upgrade to 2.1.1, I am no longer getting the “white flash of doom” between page transitions in iOS native apps.
I _AM_ getting a consistent white flash in the transition from the splash page to the homescreen in iOS native apps.
Build #1802954
HW: iPhone 4S
iOS version: 5.1.1August 27, 2012 at 5:20 am #329539

I am able to replicate a flash between completion of the splash image and rendering of the startup screen between the 2.0 and 2.1 versions. I have opened a bug and the dev team will dig in an isolate the issue.

robert65Memberhi the white flash is now worse than ever, as previous discussions on this the white flash lasts between transitions with the splash screen and on the bottom tabs.

Let me break this down:
1) Your iOS app shows a white flash between screen transitions (not the splash screen which is not a screen) similar to reports with 2.1 preview-1. Yes/No?
– if yes this contradicts both our test cases and @1thinchip report that problem is reconciled.2) Your iOS app shows a white flash between the end of the splashscreen render and the beginning of the startup screen. Yes/No?
– we have replicated this problem as reported earlierAugust 27, 2012 at 11:02 am #329561
robert65MemberWayne, sorry for any confusion:
1)the 4 tabs at the bottom of my page still have the white flash when pressed
2) you are planning to fix this

support-michaelKeymasterI have several test cases pertaining to flashing issues during screen transitions. I’m not able to replicate any flashing experience on a standard screen-to-screen transitions where all screens include a navbar and a toolbar with media-image buttons. We made a key change in 2.1 that resolved the flash issue on transition from a toolbar with media-image button.
Did you rebuild your app (html file) with 2.1 production version?
If yes can I trouble you to mock up a simple example in MobiOne 2.1 that exhibits this problem. Also please remind me what devices and OS versions you are using?

robert65MemberWayne, i have just emailed you all my working files, i hope this helps, yes i updated to 2.1 in a hope that the flash would be removed, but if you check the previous post i highlighted this issue in m2

We are investigating the flash that occurs after completion of the splash screen. We are close to isolating the problem. In a nutshell we optimized resource loading in 2.1 and it seems that for a quicker load phase we are now seeing this white screen is visible. Thanks for all your collaboration!

support-octavioMemberHi Robert,
Could you please provide a scenario in your app where you consistently see screen flash on transtion. Also, can you remind us what version device(s)/iOS(s) you are using.

support-octavioMemberHi Robert,
Are you still have problem in latest 2.1.2. It is not clear that you are referencing 2.1.2 or 2.1.1

ehpdesignsMemberI’m experiencing this issue as well. I have tried rebuilding it twice but it didn’t make any difference. I’m using the latest version of MobiOne and built it for Android (so no splash screen available).
Any update on this?
