Using 7.5, every time I now go to add/remove software, it goes off and does it’s checking thn fails with the error:
This profile can not be resolved because required software could not be located.

Well it is a bit stranger than I thought.
I installed 7.5 using the all in one installer so now I have 7.1 and 7.5 installed … would rather have upgraded to 7.5 than having to do a full install…anyway
Even though I thought I was running 7.5 my shortcut was actually running teh 7.1 executable but showing the 7.5 splash screen when starting up.
So now I have worked that out a can run the 7.5 IDE the issue has gone away 🙂

Thank you for providing the installation details. What is the plugin you are trying to add using the Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software? Can you please provide the name of the plugin, along with the download location/update site? Please note that ME7.5 is based on Eclipse classic 3.4.2. Please ensure compatibility of your third party plugins to that of Eclipse 3.4.2.
If you verify that the plugins are compatible, I would suggest you to use the quick fix using pulse explorer. Open pulse-explorer manually. Look for ~\Genuitec\Pulse Explorer\pulse-explorer.exe. When you open pulse explorer, it will prompt you to login/register. You also have the option to login anonymously. In case you don’t have a pulse login, I would recommend you to login anonymously. Next it will redirect to explorer. Click / expand “My Profiles”. It will list you all your MyEclipse profiles here. Click on “MyEclipse 7.5”, notice right hand pane will display base, shared and personal software. All your 3rd party plugins/features are listed under personal software. Review this list. In case you want to remove a software, right click and click on [remove]. Next, right click on “MyEclipse 7.5” and click on either [Install and run]/[Re-install and run]. Pulse autotamtically resolves any dependency conflicts.

If the problem still persists after trying what Joy has pointed out, I would suggest you wipe out the 7.x installs from your machine and then reinstall MyEclipse 7.5 from scratch. That should get you up and running.I am not trying to install any specific feature. Even if I select no new features I receive the same error. I even tried deleting the whole install then doing a complete new reinstall and I get this error:

Looks like you are missing out on software at the time of installation or pulse is getting confused with existing pulse profiles. I would recommend you to do a clean install. Follow the below steps –
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under \AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under is erased as wellNext try to install MyEclipse either using pulse or using the all-in-one installer. Let me know how this works for you.
Inconviniece caused is sincerely regretted.I’ve uninstalled and deleted 2 or 3 times now. I tried installing using pulse as well, always the same issue. I tried installing in a totally new directory, same issue.
I did it one more time. Deleted everything, run the installer and accept all defaults. Start the application in a brand new workspace. When I run add/remove software and choose anything to add (I tied 5 different packages in 5 different attempts,, even just selecting BIRT docs ) Same issue.

Can you open pulse2.properties file. This is located here ~\Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties and copy and paste pulse.handshake.id here for me? This will help me investigate if there are any errors logged on our servers.

Thank you for providing the detail. I have investigated the error logs and found that you had a sync failure on 27th July. I replicated the same parameters based on the error logs and I am able to install MyEclipse 7.5 without any issues.
Can you try this –
1. Run the uninstaller.
2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under \AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under is erased as wellThis will ensure a clean install. Now, download the manual installer from the MyEclipse download page. It’s listed as option #5. This is simply Eclipse 3.4.2 with MyEclipse installed off an archived update site that is included in the download. Simply unzip it and run ‘eclipse.exe’ and you’re done.
Joy I have done just this many many times. I can’t keep uninstalling and re-installing, it hasn’t fixed the issue thus far so unless you have made any changes at your end it is just going to waste hours of my time.

I understand that you are on crunch time. But let me clarify that there is no error at our end. It seems that you are unable to install the installer from your end. Are you behind a firewall/proxy. Do you have any pre-installs of MyEclipse? I would recommend you to perform a clean install.

I have been able to successfully install MyEclipse with the same parameter as yours. I will also escalate this issue to a tech ASAP.
