    dmilotte,

Sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. This could be triggered by any 3rd party plugins/installs. Can you go to Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer, open pulse explorer. Click on My Profiles > MyEclipse 7.0. This will list you – Base Software, Shared Software and Personal Software. (Note all the personal software details and copy paste it here for me). Right click on each of the personal software and click on [remove] to remove them from the list. Now right click on MyEclipse 7.0 and click on [run]/[install and run]/[re-install and run].

In case you don’t have pulse, can you download it from http://www.poweredbypulse.com

I would appreciate if you can also copy paste your installation details located at MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Detail.

A PR is filed on this issue and the dev team are investigating this. So far, I have not been able to reproduce this at my end. If you can provide me elaborate steps to reproduce this at my end, it will help me investigate this further.

    Guys,

I’ve been trying like hell to reproduce this — I think there’s something unique about the sequence or software or updatesite that is causing the ini delete, I just cannot reproduce it on my end.

Can anyone here having this problem outline, in super-detail, exactly the steps they are taking? I can then try and reproduce those steps on my XP, Vista and Linux test machines and see if I can narrow down the bug on this one and then we can get it fixed for you guys right away.

NOTE: Please be super specific about the exact menu items and buttons being clicked, URLs being used, etc. It looks like it’s some minor detail I’m missing in the flows I’ve already tested (from Update site, from Catalog, etc.)

1 other note guys — how many of you are sharing your configured profile? Joy did some testing on our end and found in some unique share cases, she can get the ini file to delete — but from the comments I read so far, it didn’t sound like any of you were sharing, and were just adding software — right?

In that case, I just need a reproducible case for the adding-software part.

Guy we are working on a patch for this as well as the other hot-topics that people are having troubles with (with the installer, Pulse and network connectivity). We should have it out in about a week or 2.
