I am using Eclipse 3.1, JDK 1.5, Fedora Core 3, and MyEclipse 4.0.

Things were working well enough, but now all four projects display an error message (“The currently displayed page contains invalid values”) when I select Proj_Name > Properties > Java JAR Dependencies.

How can I narrow down the problem &/or fix it? Is there a property file or config file I can edit or erase?

Try restarting your enviornment with -clean on the commandline (ie. eclipse -clean). That will force Eclipse to rebuild the plugin workspace. Once it’s back up, select Project > Clean… > Clean All Projects to rebuild everything.

Tried that.

NB. in doing one of the “clean”s (prob the Project > Clean ….), something wiped out my ‘struts-config.xml’ and my ‘web.xml’ which is a little cleaner than I wanted to go.

Still, once I got those files copied back in place, and verified that something had modified ${TOMCAT_HOME}/conf/server.xml to have a context added for the app; I redeployed, restarted, and failed (http 404)…
“The requested resource (/vemscase/login.jsp) is not available”.
It is available, right where it should be. I’m guessing “clean” cleaned up something else that I haven’t restored yet. Any suggestions where to start looking?

Tried it again, but tar’d up the workspace first.
Before looking for diff in workspace tree, I tried the Properties (?) Wizzard for myProject.
That is, from the MyEclipse Perspective, the Package Explorer, Navigator Tab, I right click on myProject, select Properties and see a frame titled “Properties for myProject”. The first is “Info”. the last “WS-I Compliance”. When I click on “Java JAR Dependencies”, I get an alert box titled “Could not accept changes”. It has the message “The currently displayed page contains invalid values”.
So, I’m seeking a new solution.

There really seems to be something wrong with this install. Can you start the environment on a new, empty workspace and see if it behaves there? Can you please post all the information we request in the [URL=http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2+file-viewtopic-t-393.html]Posting Guidelines[/URL] thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context along with the error log so we can look deeper into the problem.

I did as you suggest, but got the same results. The new project I created in the dleared workspace was ‘testcase’. Note that before I restarted eclipse, I even wiped out /home-dir/workspace/.metadata. Below is the log from that attempt. It shows the eclipse build id. I’m using Tomcat 5.0. The only other plugins are velocity, sysdeo, and hibernateSynchronizer. The OS is Linux, Fedora Core 3 – Linux vems 2.6.9-1.667smp. The machine has a gig of main memory. The jdk 1.5 build is 1.5.0_04-b05. Under plugins there are three jars named org.eclipse.pde.* and four directories. Eclipse was installed two to four weeks prior to MyEclipse. I’ve generally launched tomcat with your gif/application-server-launcher. There is an exception in the log thrown by org.eclipse.jface
