Can someone direct me to which version of eclipse and MyEclipse I can use to run on a Windows VIsta 64 PC. I have JDK 1.5.0_15 (64 bit).

I tried eclipse 3.4.1 (64 bit) with MyEclipse 6.5.1GA but the I received incompatibility errors in the software update process and it erred out.

MyEclipse 7.0 is the version compatible with Eclipse 3.4. You will have to upgrade to MyEclipse 7.0

I downloaded the 64 bit version eclipse Version: 3.4.1 Build id: M20080911-1700

I also downloaded MyEclipse 7.0 Milestone 2.

Did the software update install, and it failed.

Are you using pulse to setup MyEclipse? 7.0M2 pulse installer for the 64 bit OS has some known issues that are being fixed by the dev team at the moment. You will have to use the archive installer to setup MyEclipse.

I don’t think I am using pulse. Because I am downloading the .zip archive of myeclipse “MyEclipse_7.0M2_ArchivedUpdateSite” and then Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site > Archive… > selecting the .zip file and on I go. I am still getting failure, even when I just select the MyEclipse Enterprise workbench and non of the other stuff.

Have you tried using the All in One installer to setup MyEclipse? Does that work for you?

OK that seemed to work. But how can I tell if I am using a 32 bit or a 64 bit eclipse ide?

MyEclipse is only certified on 32-bit Eclipse, the All in One installer uses the 32-bit Eclipse install.
