fredporterMemberThe same problem happens in classic eclipse.
In addition, I installed the identical application sets on an HP desk machine, XP Pro and MS Office 2003. Everything works fine. I am inclined to believe I need to reinstall IE 6 on the machine I am having trouble with. Unfortunately, I use the laptop for class.

fredporterMemberI don’t know if you got that last message. NO the ‘classic’ eclipse editor does not work either.
I also installed the identical applications on an HP desk machine, and it works just fine. Perhaps I should try and reinstall IE 6. Any ideas you have would be great. Unfortunately, I need the laptop in class so it is important that I get it to work.
Thanks for your help, Fred

fredporterMemberThe classic editor does work when I right-click on the jsp or html file for some files. Classic works, and MyEclipse JSP designer does not work. Apparently the file is being generated, and the problem comes in starting up the designer.
Thanks, Fred

Riyad KallaMemberFred,
Reinstalling IE 6 may help, there may have been some changes done to it by Office, it’s ahrd to say. In the mean time the Classic designer can atleast help you get work done if the new designer isn’t working.February 4, 2006 at 6:03 pm #246101
fredporterMemberOne other piece information may be relevant when editing JSP or HTML files. Classic works okay, but the Design tab never shows up under the editing window, only source and preview are there.

fredporterMemberI am able to get Simple Servlets and JSP files to work, but not HTML files. In addtion when I start up a servlet, it always goes into the debug mode. Is there any way so make the system run a servlet in the run mode. I am unable to find out how to do that. Thanks, Fred

If you navigate to WIndow > Preferences> MyEclipse > App Servers > Tomcat 5, and then click on the Launch settings, you can change the mode to Run from here.

Michael MwamungaMemberI’m having the same problem. It just stopped working one time after closing out of Eclipse and opening it back up. Now I cannot edit the jsp files nor use the Clay Azzurri plugin which I had comfortably been using. I tried reinstalling MyEclipseIDE and it worked for the first time and then on closing out and logging back in, I get the same error.

Tom TillinghastMemberI can’t speak for Fred, but I believe I have his same problem and using ‘Classic’ Editor DOES work.
