I have been using MyEclipse 7.5 on Windows Server 2003. I have downloaded 8.6 and uninstalled 7.5 and deleted all 7.5 files. On trying to run 8.6 I get: “Extracting Installer for MyEclipse 8.6 error” — Non 7-Zip archive. Please help.

    OliverVenables,

How did you install ME 8.6? I mean using all-in-one installer / pulse / archived update site? In case you have used all-in-one installer, please ensure the installer file size and md5sum matches that mentioned in the download site.

Let me know how this works for you.

    Annad,

The reason you are seeing the above issue is because your installer download is incomplete. Please ensure that the downloaded installer file size and md5sum matches that mentioned in the site. Alternatively, you can use pulse to download. Here are the steps –
    1. Open pulse(If you don’t have pulse, download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com)
    2. Login to pulse
    3. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
    4. Click and expand – Ready to use profiles > Popular
    5. From the right hand pane, right click on “MyEclipse 8.6” and click on [run]
    6. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.
Let me know how this works for you.

    deryaaltuntas,

If you are facing the issue Non-7 Zip archive, it means that either your installer file is incomplete or corrupted. I would recommend you verify the file size and md5sum of the installer matches that mentioned in the download site.

    deryaaltuntas,

What is your OS and version? You can download md5 from http://www.md5summer.org/download.html and verify the md5 sum
Also can you attach a screenshot of the issue you are facing. I am interested in the java.lang.nullpointerexception. You can send the screenshot as a [pm] or use [post reply] to send the attachment.

Alternatively, you can also install using pulse. Please refer – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-how-to-install-myeclipse-from-pulse/ This FAQ is based on ME 8.5.
