Notice: Due to upgrading issues dealing with GEF we have taken down the MyEclipse upgrade site until further notice. If you have upgraded from MyEclipse 3.8 Beta 1 to 3.8 Beta 2 through the update site, please follow the fix instructions below.

    Quickfix Installation:

    • Download the file: http://www.myeclipseide.com/products/eworkbench/quickfixes/UpdateSite_3.8Beta2.zip
    • Unzip the file into your ‘eclipse’ directory under your ‘MyEclipse’ directory
(e.g. if ME is installed to C:\Program Files\MyEclipse 3.8, then this file must be unzipped into C:\Program Files\MyEclipse 3.8\eclipse. Also you should get “overwrite” warnings when unzipping the file, say “Yes” or “All” to them. If you do not get “overwrite” warnings, double check that you didn’t unzip the file to the wrong location.
    • Restart Eclipse

    Quickfix Details:
The quickfix replaces the GEF and Draw2D plugins with the 3.0 Final releases. There have been a number of reported problems when upgrading because people have had non-final releases of GEF and Draw2D in their Eclipse plugins directory, conflicting with MyEclipse’s requirement for the final releases of these libraries.

If you did a fresh install from the Update Site or used the manual installer or one of the double-click installers, you do not need to apply this quickfix.

As an added note, these GEF problems manifest as errors while trying to open the Struts editor and exceptions in the log file pertaining to the org.eclipse.gef package.
