I have a completed web project, and an associated WAR file. I’ve been asked to provide an EAR for the same so as to deploy to an OC4J server, and I am baffled as to how to go about it.

What are the steps to accomplish this? I see the “J2EE EAR File” option in the Export wizard, but I find the subsequent steps to be completely confusing. It appears that I need to create an additional TWO projects (an EJB and an EJB Module) to get this one file…. Surely I am doing something wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

For more detailed information please see our EAR tutorial here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/images/tutorials/quickstarts/earprojects/

For the quick and dirty answer:
    1) Create a new Enterprise Application
    2) Set your web project as a module of the new application as you step through the wizard.
    3) hit Finish
    4) Now you can deploy your Enterprise Project and it will create an EAR for you.
