jridge@infinet.comMemberWe are an IBM RSA shop. We are also currently transitioning to the latest version of Rational Software Architect, version 7. IBM announced earlier that this version would be more tolerant of 3rd party plug-ins, so I was hopeful that I could use the MyEclipseIDE along side of RSA 7. (in Eclipse 3.2x)
My initial attempts uncovered an issue with running MyEclipseIDE while I was running the WebSphere 6.1 Test Environment (WTE 6.1) in “secure mode”.
My question is, has anyone ever been successful in setting up MyEclipseIDE to start and stop a WebSphere Test Envrironment (WTE as per IBM RSA terminology) running with security enabled?
*** Details.
I installed RSA 7 along with the provided version of Eclipse 3.2x and configured a server to run with Security Enabled (authenticated against a Microsoft A/D acting as an LDAP Server). This was all working fine. I then install MyEclipseIDE Pro 5.5.1GA. Now my ability to start/stop the server quits working. I noticed that the MyEclipse installation appears to have broke my RSA install by modifying the Eclipse.ini file in a non-compatible manner.I don’t want to spend too much additional effort on pursuing this, if it isn’t feasible. Do I have any hope of starting/stopping the RSA 7/WTE 6.1 server with security enabled?
Thanks in advance.
jridge@infinet.comMemberIBM themselves have had some issues getting this to work with RSA 6.x and WebSphere Test Environment 6.0x. Here is a link that describes some of the contortions required to make it work.

I think the “fileTransferSecured.ear” may be a key part of the equation.
Thanks.
Riyad KallaMemberDid you get this working? I’ll admit we don’t do any testing with RSA, just the base Eclipse platform, so I don’t have definitive answers for you in this regard. I’m sorry.
jridge@infinet.comMemberNot working yet, that’s why I logged a message to the Forum.
The latest version of RSA (v7) claims to offer better support for 3rd party plug-ins. It’s actually a plug-in itself. That’s why I had high hopes that I could use MyEclipseIDE along side of it. It was “almost” working, but not quite. The server would actually start successfully (with security enabled). The problem is that RSA wouldn’t notice that the WebSphere Test Environment (WTE) had started successfully. Since it doesn’t notice the start, it doesn’t proceed with the automated deployment which follows.
It might be worthwhile to go ahead and download a trial copy and give it a whirl. It could be something obvious to you guys. Here is a link to the trial edition:

Thanks in advance.
