Recently a colleague deleted a jar file from a shared project. He forgot to check in the classpath changes. Because of this there is a buildpath error. However MyEclipse does a partial deployment and gives an error about a lock file in Tomcat. The problem with this is that it is completely the wrong error message. I t would’ve been better to get an unspecified error. Being sent on a wild goose chase costs time.

    Jasper,

Did MyEclipse complain that it could not deploy this particular file (which was deleted) because it was locked by tomcat?

I’m afraid I was not able to understand your issue exactly – if you could tell us exactly what the [incorrect] error message MyEclipse displayed, that would help a great deal tracking this down.

    Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
