I am having this on eclipse 3.0.1 and myeclipse 3.8.2.

when refactor-rename a java file, it does the JSP Search Indexing… and it uses the memory up to 330M and die.

There are about 530 JSP’s and i used -vmargs -Xmx256M

This is exactly the problem the quickfix was created to fix… did you apply it?

Just to let u know that after installing the quickfix, eclipse seems to have calm down. But occassionally I still get out of mem err if I close/open projects multiple times during the course of couple days. But at most I usually only keep 2-3 projects open. Anyway, its way better than before.

Guys update on this thread, another user (in addition to a few here) were STILL running into Out of Mem problems when using the quickfix and doing refactoring in large projects… our developer looked back into his fixed and found a case where the indexer was still getting started during refactoring and fixed it this morning. We are going to try and roll out another quickfix here soon for you guys. Thank you for your patience.

I couldn’t get to the link above. It says “The topic or post you requested does not exist”.

I appologize, I jumped the gun. It was posted to our QA beta testing forum, not everyone has access to it. It should be released for public consumption shortly.
