I am using MyEclipse with Weblogic 8.1 SP1. I have found that local variable values is not available in variable window during the debugging section. Is it normal? Any way to get around it?

Same here, JBoss 3.2. It is a bit of a pain to debug but there is a simple way around. Use the inspect function of Eclipse JDT Debug. You can still inspect single variables. (mark the name of the variable (or enter it) and hit the inspect button.

But if someone else has a better solution, I would love to hear it.

I just ran debug tests on JBoss3.2 and WLS7 in which breakpoints in my EJBs worked fine and all local variables were available for inspection and modification.

    1) What are you debugging and where are breakpoints set?
    2) How did you deploy the application (packaged/exploded mode, MyEclipse deployer/custom mechanism, …)?
    3) Are you launching your appserver from the MyEclipse toolbar or some other mechanism?

JBoss 3.2.2, launched from MyEclipse, MyEclipse 2.6.2 deployment (packed & exploded), Sun JDK 1.4.2_05.

This may be an issue with the latest JDK version. I successfully tested with JDK 1.4.2_01. I’ll try installing and testing on the latest version ASAP.

Thanks Michael. I will test another JDK too. Hope this will help.
