After further evaluation this will get targetted for our 5.5 M2 release tentatively, but the workaround of excluding from validation seems to be the only workaround right now. I’m sorry we couldn’t get this resolved right away.

Is it a ‘for sure’ it will be fixed in 5.5M2, or a ‘likely’ it will get fixed? I want to know how anxious or not I should be for 5.5M2 🙂

It was assigned to the 5.5M2 fix list in bugzilla. That’s about as close to “commitment” as you can get. 🙂

Yes this was fixed in 5.5M2. Any file type you have marked as a Fragment will/will-not be validated depending on the “Validate Fragments” settring you have turned on or off under the JSP editor properties.
