Im not sure if this will help since JBoss tools are not certified to run with MyEclipse but you can give it a shot.

Do that. Just try running JBoss Tools with Eclipse alone to make sure they are compatible with Eclipse. Then you can install MyEclipse on top and try it out again.

I started with a clean Eclipse, installed Subclipse, and then JBoss Tools. No errors – JBoss Tools seemed to work. Installed MyEclispe, plugin verison into this Eclipse, got duplicate errors. Did Eclipse – clean – got Null ptr exceptions when strarting up.
Maybe the only way to use MyEclipse & JBoss Tools is by using a 2nd instance of Eclipse for MyEclipse, if there is value in doing this.

I hope i’m not off topic, or mist something. But I got it to at least startup and it seams to work fine.
I used eclipse-jee-europa-fall2-win32.zip. Then installed jboss tools 2.0.0.cr1 (EXCLUDING XDOCLET FEATURE). And then MyEclipse 6.01 GA. Started it, and I can make Jboss projects or MyEclipse projects, so at a glance I say it works fine. I even installed all the additional MyEclipse features and created a Report Web project.
The only thing now left to do is setting the desired file association since both IDE’s have overlapping file type support.
Now i’m off topic. Would the staff mind to correct my records at MyEclipse? I joined in 2006 and renewed my subscription at the 16th of December 2007. Thank you in advance.

I did experience the duplicate error, but I didn’t use a eclipse clean startup, I just restarted normally after every plugin installation.
</ontopic>Come to think of it, it was a bit of a hassle when installed additional plugin’s as the duplicate plugin issue kicked in, but a day later started it and Eclipse doesn’t complain about configuration conflicts or stuff like that. AT LEAST NOT YET. I do backup regularly, so no biggy.
We use myeclipse idea for our development. Recently we’re stacking up JBoss Seam for all our new applications and it seems that MyEclipse doesnt “recognize” the JBoss Tools plugins.
I tried to copy the plugins manually to the plugins folder, it doesn’t recognize.
Is there any other way?
Otherwise, we have to cancel all our subscriptions for myeclipse starting this year (over 35 of them) since the plugin management is already horrendous.

You can install the JBossTools by dropping them into the /dropins folder under the MyEclipse 7.0 install directory. I would also point out that SEAM support is a very highly requested feature for us to work on and we are just waiting on the management team to OK us to work on it.
