Given that the Design views take awhile to load and I don’t use them much (probably because they still seem to be a bit buggy), I’d love to have an option to disable them. Shouldn’t be hard to do and would make a lot of us who just want syntax hilighting and code completion etc in the text views happy.

If you associate your JSP files with the Classic editor, opening the file doesn’t instantiate any of the designer code until you click the Designer tab, so this is what you want.
