Shane WaltersMemberAnother vote for Tapestry support. I’ve just begun developing a web app with it and really like what I see. The table component that is availble looks promising.
For any newbies like myself – I’m using Tapestry in Action and Matt Raible’s Equinox as my learning tools.

mhincaMemberI am the author of ‘the other plugin’ for Eclipse/Tapestry:

I agree, let’s get Spindle integrated into MyEclipse if possible. I have had excellent help from Geoff Longman, the Spindle author duirng my plugin development.
Other posters asked for drag and drop. Tapestry palette has some drag and drop features and a property sheet for editing component parameters.
My long term goal for this plugin is to provide online searching for Tapestry component libraries, browse library contents before download and then to allow download and addition to project dependencies from within Eclipse.

Riyad KallaMemberMike,
Thank you for posting, I’m going to add your information and link to the issue we are using to track the progress of the Tapestry integration.February 1, 2005 at 4:37 am #224139
Gernot StockerMember+1 for Tapestry
+1 for Srping SupportI’m already using Spindle and MyEclipse together and they work fine. Just create a TapestryProject and add the
MyEclipse WebProject Capability to the project.February 3, 2005 at 8:08 am #224343
Gary GaggianiMemberI would also very much like to see Tapestry included in MyEclipse. In addition, Spring support would be helpful also.
MyEclipse is a great concept, a great help to me, and I want to see it succeed well into the future. The only way to do this is to keep up with the support of current tools.

Riyad KallaMemberUpdate on this thread:
As Maher pointed out in another thread, Spring support *is* comming (I think in 3.9). We are also very supporting of adding Tapestry support but right now I don’t have more information on the final decision, one of the reasons being that we are adding a ton of brand new and enhanced tools for 3.9 and it is really keeping us busy, most of these developers aren’t going home until 10 or so and just keep working when they get there. WE are shooting for a release at end of March. After we get all that rolled out then I think we will sit back, take a breath and go “Ok, now what’s next?” and if Tapestry isn’t in by then, I’m fairly sure we would throw that into the mix while considering where to go next.
It is a great technology, those are the types of things we want to support. (and clearly has the interest from our user base).

Daniel SerodioMemberLike cardsharp said, I’d really like to see MyEclipse’s HTML editor support Tapestry like Spindle does, because MyEclipse’s editor is much better.

rhensleyMemberI’ve considered MyEclipse in the past, but it just didn’t bring enough to the table for our web development. If Tapestry support is added, that could easily tip the balance.

Besides Tapestry, what did you find most lacking? What tooling did your team need that wasn’t there?

Daniel SerodioMemberMyEclipse’s HTML and XML editors are far superior to Spindle’s, but they don’t have the autocomplete and error checking in Spindle.
What I’d like to see is a “merge” of Spindle’s and MyEclipse’s XML and HTML editors.February 22, 2005 at 8:04 am #225571

Riyad KallaMemberGeoff,
We are glad to have you here and thank you (as developers) for your great work on Spindle. Additionally Genuitec (MyEclipse) will be at EclipseCon as well and I know we’d love to get a chance to talk. Let me gather some info and PM it your way.February 24, 2005 at 4:14 am #225657
Orestis MarkouMemberWe are anxiously waiting for this!!! I’ve started reading on Tapestry and I can say I’m very impressed with the simplicity.
