waltMemberIs a unique id created automatically each time an app is installed onto a device?
This would be something that would identify each installation of the app (without necessarily referencing the user or the hardware) so that a server can keep track of responses from a set of installed apps.
thanks for the help!

support-octavioMemberHi walt,
Nothing like that is accessible without violating various parts of the app store’s terms of use. App developers have to generate, store & track their own IDs.
waltMembermakes sense, thanks for the reply
waltMemberHi Octavio,
some clarifying follow up questions:
Is each mobione app installed in a uniquely identified sandboxed folder as described here: http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Security/Conceptual/AppSandboxDesignGuide/DesigningYourSandbox/DesigningYourSandbox.html?
In your last response, are you saying an app can’t access or use the name of its install directory as an identifier? I can understand how apple could see that as a security issue, but that method of identification has been recommended strongly by a collaborator and I want to make sure I fully understand the issue and your answer.
thanks again for your help.
support-michaelKeymasterBear with me if this is a naive question but I’m not connecting where the mac sandbox fits into this conversation for computing a UDID. Can you share more info about what was recommended to you and if there is a working example in use for native hybrid apps, specifically with phonegap?
Now that Cordova/Phongap is an official Apache OSS project we are actively working on an update. This update will provide you access to a new UUID functionality. Note this is not the same as UDID but does it provide sufficient identify support for you purposes?

waltMemberHi Wayne, sorry for the very slow response, missed your reply to this question.
When I was talking about the app sandbox, I was trying to describe the new secureUDID (I have also seen it called CFUUID) that apple has used to replace the old UDID. I want the user to be able to send an identifier to a service and the cordova UUID sounds like it would work perfectly. Is that available yet in MobiOne?
waltMemberignore my last post, I found you answer here: http://www.genuitec.com/support-genuitec/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2327
