martechadsMemberHello MobiOne Team,
First, thank you for your continued support in responding to these posts. You have certainly set a higher level of service in my opinon represetning MobiOne. This is yet another response from Apple about my most recent App submitted (3rd party app uploader service used).
I’m convinced I’m not building the app properly in MobiOne to submit it to Apple. But I’don’t know where in the build porcess that I’m missing something. I don’t understand how my app differs in function than the app in the iTunes store SETR. I’ve purchased or downloaded every app I’m aware of in the App Store that was built in MobiOne to compare and learn the UI function. But i’m still missing something.please see http://tagr.com/t/V33CpW
From iTunes Connect:
10.6We found the following issues with the user interface of your app:
Specifically, we have found that your app does not take advantage of the iOS platform. It would be appropriate to add iOS specific UI and user functionality rather than displaying just text and table views.
These examples identify types of issues discovered in your app but may not represent all such issues. It would be appropriate to thoroughly evaluate your app to address these types of issues.

Unknown AuthorParticipantFirst, thank you for purchasing the SETR app (and perhaps my two other apps?).
If you look closer at the SETR app, you’ll see that the acronym look-up page uses Javascript, that there are web links and an email link on the disclaimer page, and that there’s a lot of use of color so that users immediately associate what they’re reading with the color-coding that is normally associated with those phases. The 8th version of SETR (v2.0) is now on iTunes. So, it has been reviewed 8 times and passed each time.
I humbly suggest that the error is not with Mobione, but with your design.

martechadsMemberI agree that the process to get it approved in iTunes is one me, just as my post states. So, if you’re saying I need to use Javascript…I thought the whole idea behind Mobione is to not have to learn code. Are you saying SETR is build on MobiOne but uses javascript code instead of the drag and drop items on MobiOne? I’m not sure, but I can see more and more people asking for a single document from start to finish about building an app to submit to iTunes app store. One that is built using the proper UI fucntions that Apple wants.

Unknown AuthorParticipantMobione is HTML5 + Javascript functionality. It always has been. You asked about the differences between my app and yours. I told you.

support-michaelKeymasterThe app store approval process is subjective.
Some thoughts:
1) Create a great looking UI
The bar to clear for getting your app in the app store is to create a good looking UI (user experience). If an app contains low quality images or the UI is generally poorly designed it will be rejected. Compare your app UI design with a series of similar apps in the app store. Just doing this may give you a clue on what the reviewers are looking for and how to modify your app.2) Design and app not a website
If your UI is design looks and feels like a website or worse loads a website on start up then it will be rejected.3) Use native feature if needed
As a last resort if you need to distinguish your app from a web-based app then you can use a more native feature such as persistence. But addressing #1 and #2 is frequently good enough. -
