RicMemberA few questions
ONE:
Is a web based app going to be rejected by Apple? (seems I read that somewhere in your documentation)Even if the App is not intended for the App Store and is for internal use only.
TWO:
Which of the developer programs should I enroll in for the above scenario:
Internal use App,
not for sale,
not for Apple Store.THREE:
Is there anyway you know of to create a “Web App Launcher” whose logo can be customized and name can be customized to whatever I need but is created to launch only a single web app… the one I am creating at any given time. That is to say, is there a way to create a ‘shell’ that will sit on the ipad and look like a regular app icon, but will launch a given web app…
and is this the kind of thing that APPLE would reject?

support-octavioMemberHi,
In my understanding you’re trying to create an app as the goal of this thread:
http://www.genuitec.com/support-genuitec/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3203So, can you give us more information about who are going to use your app? this will help us to answer your first questions.

RicMemberThanks for your help.
A client has asked for an app to run on an iPad.
It will be used internally and not sold. I do not know the quantity yet, it may be over 100.
The contents of the app will essentially be a list or numbers with descriptions, a disclaimer page, a contact page, a logo splash screen.I do not know javascript well enough to code this (though I know it would be simple if I did), and I am just getting aquainted with xcode…
…so html5 seemed like a good quick way to accomplish thier needs until I am conversant in one or the other of the other languages.I did look at your “web loader app” page and began to go throught the process, but Apple requires the Unique Identity code from a device (which I don’t have yet – I am jumping into this with no previous experience of the iPad). So I cannot complete the process, yet.
Also it is stated in the begining of this Tutorial “Do not submit this ti the App Store” that makes sense, but I guess I need to still go through the Apple signing process… is that right?
When I do get the device and complete the process laid out on your “web loader app” page, will I be able to generate and distribute any number of these “Web Apps” to my client?
And (once installed) will they look (desktop icon) and run as if it was an “official” App.

paulDMemberif your clients IPADS have access to the web just distribute as a web app. It will have all the functionality of the native IOS app and you will not have to enrol into the apple developers rip off scheme.

RicMemberPaul
Thanks for the additional thread, but I am missing something.
In both th thread you have directed me to and in the “Create a Webb Loader App” draft article the statement is made that you can bypass the Apple signing balogna.
Yet, when I follow the instructions on the “Create a Webb Loader App” draft article page and select “Build IOS Application” I find myself faced with, Digital Certificate, Private Key, Provisioning Profile and UUID…
If I go to “Publish Mobile Web Application” the it simply sends my HTML to your servers.
Is there an actual App generated using this method?
And if not, what is the difference between my developing an HTML5 web site and sending a link to an iPad
and developing a Web App in “MobiOne Design Center”Also, in Apple’s “In-house_App_Accelerator_Guide” for “Enterprise Solutions”, they have a whole section on Web Apps and how this is a great new thing for In-House App development.
