FrobulateMemberDear Support Staff:
My home computer is not connected to the Internet. How may I get a license ID and activation code? I see that the subscription ID and subscription code allow 5 days of operation.
Also, though it must be a minor case, might it be worthwhile to have a note in the FAQ that says that activation requires an Internet connection or [whatever the substitute is for poor souls like me] ?
Sincerely yours,
Kyle McAbee

support-joyMemberFrobulate,
I would recommend you to go through this document – http://www.myeclipseide.com/documentation/ProductActivationSteps.pdf – This document lists alternate way to activate in case your system does not have internet access. Please follow the steps and let me know how this works.
Best.

FrobulateMemberDear Joy:
The off-Internet activation worked. For customors in similar straits, you must install MyEclipse on an Internet-connected computer to get an activation code to use on a non-Internet-connected computer.
Unfortunately, now there is a new problem. The hard disk crashed. After replacing it, I re-installed Eclipse and MyEclipse 9.0. However, after installation I decided to create a new workspace on Drive G, my data drive that I back up. After creating another workspace, MyEclipse 9 lost its activation. On the Update Subscription window, MyEclipse displays a subscription expiration date for 20120606 (well in the future from 2011), yet gives an Activation Status of “Product activation must be completed in 5 days.” When I submit the activation code that worked previously, MyEclipse says that it is an invalid activation code.
If it is useful, I can send a screen capture.
How can I correct this problem?

Brian FernandesModeratorFrobulate,
Activation is dependent on the overall configuration of your machine. Changing your hard disk has changed this state and you will therefore need to obtain a fresh activation code – the old code will not work as it was based on your older machine configuration, with your older harddisk.
Obtain a fresh activation code like you did the last time and that should solve your problem.
Hope this helps.
