I have two urgent questions:

Q1:
I got my certificates and initial distribution profile to work without a problem.
Now I want to include my associates in the testing of the APP.
I added their UDIDs on the APPLE site, and downloaded a new distribution profile.

However, when I go back and check the Apple web pages for my account and distribution profiles, it does not show any of the added devices. And even my own device shows inactive. Yet I can test native IOS apps generated by MOBI on my iphone.

I am confused about the distribution cert requirements.

How can I tell that the last distribution profile I downloaded includes the devices I need ?

By the way, trying to go through the Apple site’s help on this issue is like trying to communicate with people from another planet.

MOBI one web page says I can distribute IOS apps without the iTUNES. Is this statement valid for the final end product developed or just for the interim development phase versions?

Perhaps there is a glitch in the new provision portal. I inspected our ad hoc distribution provision profiles and the devices are listed correctly. Another approach is to open the ad hoc distribution .mobileprovision in an editor and you can see the device ids listed similar to the following:

Hmm! I need to review that statement. To qualify it you can only distribute an iOS app in ad hoc mode or if you have an enterprise developer license and distribute to your employees/staff.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for the pointers on cert verification.

I checked and sure enough the additional devices were not included.

So I went back to Apple site and deleted the entire distr. cert and app ids.
Redid the process and this time since the devices were already declared in the Apple site, all of them popped up. I selected them and was able to create a new dist.cert with all included.

Takeaway: Apple site does not update an existing distr cert correctly if devices are added to it later. on. One has to gen a new one.

After you have entered your devices you decide which devices are to be included when you create the provisioning profile, the certificate has nothing to do with it. At least that’s the way I see it.
