Hi, I have myeclipse blue ed. 7.1.1 trial version. When i try to run the installer, its throwing null pointer exception. (An unexpected failure occured initializing the installer java.lang.NullPointerException) I couldn’t found any similar problem on this forum. Please help. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Can you verify the file size and the md5sum of the installer matches with that given in the download site? This looks more like a corrupted installer issue. I would recommend you to download again. If you have pulse, I would recommend you to use pulse for download. This will ensure the download begins from the last point and pulse also automatically resolves any dependency conflicts. In case you don’t have pulse, you can download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com. To check if you have pulse, look into Start > Run > Program Files> Pulse > Pulse Explorer. Open pulse explorer. You can login anonymously. Click on MyProfiles, this will list you installed MyEclipse profiles. Right click on the profile and click on [Install and Run]/[Re-install and run]

I tried to download twice and i have two copy of product. Also md5 checksum of files are correct. I tried with 3 different version of jvm (1.4, 1.5, 1.6) I have pulse but when i run pulse i m getting same NullPointerException error. on the other hand i have 3.4 version of eclipse (ganymede) and its working without any problem. Are there any installation notes document or checklist about installation of myEclipse. Thanks.

Are you behind firewall? What is your OS? Can you copy and paste your installation details here? You can get it from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Detail.
Have you installed MyEclipse on Eclipse 3.4.1? Please ensure you have downloaed Eclipse 3.4.1 Classic. If you are new to MyEclipse I would recommend you to our educational material here – go through http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?module=htmlpages&func=display&pid=7

Hi again,
Ä°m using xp pro. im not behind the firewall and xp’s firewall off and antivirus (node32)protection disabled. Im using standart ecilpse 3.4.1 without myeclipse plugins. i can not reach installation details because i m getting this error just after extaction.(before first step) so i have only one installation log file.

I am confused. How are you trying to install ME/ME blue? Have you installed Eclipse 3.4.1 classic and now are trying to add MyEclipse plugin or are you getting this error when you try to install using the all-in-one installer? Can you list the set of steps here for me to reproduce this issue at my end? Also mention your OS.

Sorry about confusion 🙂 im using eclipse 3.4 on windows xp pro. This is Independent knowledge. I would like try MyEclipse 7.1 blue edition and i downloaded trial version of MyEclipse from tihs link :

When I try to run myeclipse-blue-7.1.1-win32.exe (i think this is all-in-one installer) file, i m getting nullPointerException.

I am on XP Pro too and I have successfully downloaded and installed ME 7.1.1 Blue from the above mentioned download site. Not sure what is wrong at your end. Can you send a screenshot of your error? And also share your ip address? You can click on http://www.whatismyip.com/

We can try to do a quick fix. Can you download pulse explorer from http://www.poweredbypulse.com? Open pulse explorer, you can login anonymously. Once you are logged in , it will display Explorer. Choose Eclipse 3.4 Ganymede. Click on Ready to Use Profiles and Click on Popular. Choose MyEclipse 7.1.1 Blue. Right click and context menu will display different options of Add to Profiles/Run. You can choose Add to Profiles. This will add MyEclipse 7.1 Blue profile to My Profiles. Expand My Profiles and select MyEclipse 7.1 Blue. Right click, you will see context menu with various options. Click on [Install and run]. This will install MyEclipse Blue 7.1.1 on your system. Also will create short cut. To access short cut, go to Start > Programs > Pulse > MyEclipse Blue 7.1.1

Let me know if this works for you.
