Has anyone else noticed that after installing myeclipse 4.0 the content of the “Run As…” menu entry changes for xml files. Prior to installation there are entries relating to running an xml file as an ant build file. After installation these are gone; the entries left let you run the file on a server, debug it, etc. but the ant build entries have diappeared. Disabling myeclipse restore the old entries. For me this is a real pain. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a work around/patch?

    Thanx,

    Allan,
We have had users complain about this but were unable to reproduce it internally except on one machine that I was unable to reproduce it again after finding a workaround. What I did was navigate to Preferneces > General > File Associations, and then I found the .xml file and set the Ant editor to default, this seemed to “kick things right”.

Between the file mappings and new content type algorithms, editor/file mappings have gotten quite a bit more complex in 3.1.

The workaround seems to be to specifically name the build file (xxxx.xml) rather than to rely on the default (*.xml) in the content type entry for ‘Ant Buildfile’ (Window->Preferences->Content Types->Text->XML->Ant Buildfiles). It’s unclear to me whether this is a specific myeclipse problem or more general. I tried it with myeclipse disabled and it seemed to be the same but I’m to sure – might be worth a quick check. Thanks for your help.

    Allan,
We have looked into it in the past, but I will mark it as an item that needs investigation further, thank you for the heads up.
