Hi Folks,
We are currently migrating developers workstation from windows XP to Win7.
We are using My Eclipse pro 8.6 on XP and will be using 9.0 or 9.1 on win7.We do not use the MyEclipse installer we use the Eclipse classic + doanload My Eclipse plug-in.
Is there anyway to push the licence file without having to do an online activation on every machine, we have been trying to put the licence in the user profile like we did for previous version of My Eclipse without sucess.

When we start Eclipse we are ask to activate it.Also, previously, we were silently pushing a new licence file every year. The current one is good until Nov 2011.
Can you please help ?

Activation is an additional step beyond licensing, so putting your license file in that location still does help – the user does not need to enter license details, but will still have to activate the product; this is very easy as explained here and needs to be done only once: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/activation-activating-your-installation/
Activation has unfortunately become necessary to combat rampant piracy of MyEclipse; as the activation record is different for each machine, it is not possible to create a single file that will work for all machines.
If you have a large number of users, we are working on an additional product that will facilitate license management, distribution and activation of MyEclipse; this will be available in early November. If you are interested in this solution, I can provide more details.

So if I get this right, we can still put the licence file on the workstations and every
developer will have to activate the product using the instruction on: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/activation-activating-your-installation/My other question is, since we are getting a new OS ( win7) how are licences count handled?
Lets say we have a total of 30 licences and we have about 25 developers and they are getting windows 7. they will all reactivate the product. It might look to you guys like we are using 50 licences but we are not.
Correct, you can still put the license file in that location and users will only have to activate as opposed to entering subscription details too, which they would have to do in the absence of that file.
I understand your cause for concern around re-activation; our activation system is intelligent enough to handle this situation, so re-activating when you move to Windows 7 is not a problem.
