I found lots of closed questions about download speeds, but didn’t see anything current.

I got a new computer and need to reinstall to get some work done. It’s currently moving at 15KB/sec after several failures. I’m really not confident this one isn’t going to fail too sometime in the estimated 4 hours remaining.

So, are there any mirrors, ftp, ANY way to get this faster?

    Thanks!

We are looking into this right now, had a few complaints and we realize we need to do something about it. We are really sorry about the trouble, we know it’s annoying.

    Guillaume,

Thank you for letting us know that the bittorrent trackers are down. They’ve now been restarted and should operate correctly at this point. We’ll be adding an automated moitoring and restart script to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

ok it’s back online, thanks !

I’ve put my copy of “Update Site Archive” available for download on bittorrent

    Guillaume,
Thanks for doing that for others.

    Hi All,

As far as I can see the Bittorrent trackers are very rarely offline now, that’s pretty good.

short feed-back… as you can guess the All-in-one install is far more downloaded than the “update site”… I guess people are in trouble with the “update site” and dependencies with Eclipse 3.2.1

    ideas :
    on the following page :
    http://myeclipseide.com/Downloads%2Bindex-req-viewsdownload-sid-15.html

you may add a message : if you want to keep MyEclipse as cheap as possible, consider using Bittorent. (wiki link to help user)

Also you could propose the bittorent link *first* for other downloads than “Top downloads” like “All-in-one” for MS Windows

    Cheers,

    Guillaume

I am not an angel 🙂

Well, I want to pay extra charge for new features, not for downloading the software. So Bittorrent let us keep your hosting expenses as low as possible.

    I don’t pay for internet bandwidth…

    Cheers,

    Guillaume

Guillaume (and our other European friends),

We’ve recently made the decision to add a dedicated download mirror in London to serve all of Europe. Our internal tests have shown the new mirror should at least double the download rates you’ve seen in the past. It won’t be online until January, but will definately be available for our next release.
