Hello,
My MyEclipse workspace has about 15 projects in it, all of them linking to each other, and referencing numerous external jars. The Autocomplete and code assist has slowed to a crawl. If I click on an error ‘light bulb’, it is a good few minutes before a solution pops up. Until then, eclipse locks up. My other team members have no such problem, and they have the same projects. Is there is a setting in MyEclipse that can remember previous searches for suggestions (ie what classes are in which projects) as I suspect the time is just coming from searching through everything in the workspace for ideas.

Those are pretty intense memory requirements. Make sure you adjust your startup memory arguments to look like our recommended ones here:
