When I opened eclipse today, all of the tabs are blank. Instead of saying “Package Explorer”, the tab just has the picture that represents the package explorer. Whenever I try to open up a file, instead of having the filename across the tab, it’s blank. What should I do to fix this problem?

    brandy.brewster,

Sorry to hear that you are encountering this problem. This issue weird and unheard of. For starters, can you copy – paste your installation details, you can get that by going to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > [Installation Details]. If you are not able to see the menu tabs, use [Alt P], this will invoke the Projects menu, click on [->](right arrow) to move to MyEclipse. Also can you let me know, if you have installed any 3rd party plugins or modified any settings? Please elaborate in detail on what you have done before you got this error, this will help me reproduce this error at my end.
Can you send me your log file. Your log file is located at <workspace dir>\.metadata\.log.
To fix this issue, open your pulse explorer. From Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer. In the pulse explorer, click on My Profiles. Click on MyEclipse 7.0, this will list you Base software, Shared software and Personal Software. (Please note down the personal software and copy paste them here for me ) Remove all the personal software, right click on each personal software and click on [remove]. Once all the personal software are removed, right click on MyEclipse 7.0 and click on [Run]/[Install and Run]/[Re-install and Run]. Let me know, if this works for you.

    brandy.brewster,

Can you try by creating a new workspace and check if the blank tab issues go away? I am not sure, what caused this issue. So far I have not been able to reproduce this at my end. Can you let me know the sequence of steps that you did before you noticed the blank tabs? What are the 3rd party plugins you have installed in ME?
