gibletsMemberJust downloaded and installed MobiOne version 1.0M8.
It works well in almost every way, except that I find I’m unable to change the geolocation data.
I’m trying to change it under Tool Panel/Settings/Geolocation Settings. It’s set to the default settings of Latitude: 33.099998474121094 and Longitude: -96.69999694824219. …I can change these numbers and press “Save”, but when I go back the default numbers still show. (The newly entered numbers show for a split second, but then it blinks to the default coordinates.)
The changes don’t reflect in the HTML 5 application I’m testing as well. It still shows the same location in the Google Maps page. (…I know this part of my application works, as I’ve tested it on my real iPhone extensively.)
Am I doing something wrong? Does the new release have a bug in changing the Geolocation settings data?

freerunnerMemberI think it’s a bug in M-8 they said they’re releasing a new version of M-8 with bug fixes soon!
Also PhoneGap functions just by adding PhoneGap.js into the head doesn’t work and the same with linking to sites in the designer.😀

Farq, that would be bad. I have a presentation next Tuesday that I was hoping to use MobiOne for, and it primarily is about programming HTML 5 to take advantage of Geolocation support. …It would be incredibly useful to have a Windows emulator that I could set the Geolocation coordinates for.
Are there older versions of MobiOne available for download? One where this feature works Ok?

wayneModeratorGiblets,
I confirmed the geolocation settings problem in 1.0M8. I’m talking with the team now about possible weekly builds starting this Friday for development fixes. I’ll follow up later today with status on this bug.

And it doesn’t solve the problem of being able to perform a demo with multiple input values for geolocation data. …Only the MobiOne emulator does that.

wayneModeratorWe are working on an update to milestone-8 with a few bug fixes including the geolocation settings. I hope we can get it out tomorrow (Friday). If not then, by Monday.

Genuitec Mobile TeamThanks again Wayne, I’ll check back frequently.
This presentation is to a group of Windows .NET developers. Needless to say, they’ll be informed about MobiOne being the best option for testing HTML5 mobile development on the Windows Platform.
Thanks

freerunnerMemberThanks just i can never tell unless it’s a big update (M-7 to M-8) if it’s newer then i have.

wayneModeratorI understand.
We are working on an update mechanism that will eliminate the current obtrusive requirement to install full product for each milestone. I hope we can get that in place for the M9 release; it’s a stretch goal atm.
