Attempting to install EnterpriseWorkbenchInstaller_030800Beta1.exe after first installing the just released 3.0 Eclipse fails with “Eclipse Version Error”. Details in the message indicate the directory specified as the Eclipse installation directory contains the wrong version of Eclipse. It appears that MyEclipse installer does not deem the released Eclipse 3.0 as “3.0 M9+” compatible.

Perhaps I can try a manual install.

    Thanks,
    John

Thank you for the report, we’ll check out what changed and see if we can update the installer.

Installing My Eclipse manually got me around the problem. See item 4 on the download page.

snpe/ivar, when you guys set LAX_DEBUG=1 and run the installer from the console, anything interesting printed out? Scott mentioned that we aren’t able to reproduce the installer issues locally. Have you redownloaded the new installer that we put out about a week or 2 ago, or are you using old installers that you downloaded when we first release 3.8Beta1?

Odd. I unzipped 3.8 final, ran the 3.8 Beta-1 installer on it, and had no problems whatsoever.

rkalla, I use manual install (always) and cvs , too and for new release I simple delete workspace and ECLIPSE_HOME/configuration and create links directory again (then checkout projects from cvs)

my manual install zip is first version 3.8 beta1

    regards
