Hi,

I have downloaded and installed trial versions of both Myeclipse blue and IBM Websphere 7.0 but got stuck at the most basic stage.

When I try to configure the Websphere 7.0 connector, supply the Websphere home directory and press ‘Load Profiles”, I get the following error. I tried all the other options none of them work.

There was an error during addition of WebSphere profiles. Error while saving server.xml file.
Error while saving server.xml file.

I am running on a Windows 7 64 bit machine.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi joti@verax,

You’re running myeclipse with a user that hasn’t read/write privileges on the profile directory inside your was 7 installation.
The cause is that the websphere profile was installed for a root user. If you want to be able to configure the connector and to start the server as a non root user try this http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wasinfo/v6r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.nd.doc/info/ae/ae/tpro_manage_nonroot.html

Or else you could just run myeclipse as administrator.
