    I promise I searched the forums for this answer before posting…

    I have an HP ProBook Windows 7 laptop. It’s new and plenty fast for MobiOne. I’ve used MobiOne on other machines with no problem.

    When I go to install the program, it gets to the screen where you choose a directory. There is a little x next to the default choice (even though it didn’t exist) and no matter what I do, the Next button is greyed out. I tried even installing to an external HD and it didn’t work.

    What am I doing wrong?

    @mikeysc,

    -Could you share a screenshot to learn more about where the problem occurs?
    -Have you tried install mobione in a custom location?
    -Can you download again the installer and confirm that the problem is still there?

    Thanks for responding.

    Assuming that worked, there’s a screenshot. Even if I try to change the directory it still doesn’t work.

    And I re-downloaded the installer to no avail.

    Curious, eh?

    #335051

    @mikeysc,

    Did you try the default installation location? It should be something like: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\MobiOne Studio

    If problem continues please point the cursor on that red icon to display the error message and share with us to have more information about the problem.

    You assume I typed in what you see in the screenshot. I didn’t.

    No matter what I change the destination to, I don’t get the ability to use Next.

    And there is nothing when I hover. I can’t click it either.

    #335085

    Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I have been discussing what might be goofed with our installer developer. Sorry but have a few more questions:

    1) what level of privileges does your user account have, e.g., adminstrator

    2) the default install folde proposed by the installer is incorrect for win7/win8 systems. It should be <user_home>/AppData/Local/MobiOne Studio. For example on my win7 box mobione is installed at C:\users\octavio\appdata\local\mobione studio by default

    3) Can you look for and share with me the MobiOne installation log which can be found at <user_home>\AppData\Local\Temp\pulse-one….log

    Not sure about privileges. This is my work computer, and it’s possible that’s the trouble. I right clicked and ran as administrator but to no avail. Typically, I can install software without issue.

    I can’t change where it installs to, Next is still greyed out no matter what I put.

    Log:

    NB: I suspect the end of sequence at the end is likely due to me having to hit Quit since I cannot go further.

    Bump. I would really like to use MobiOne…

    #335328

    @mikeysc,

    Our installer dev thinks that might be a problem with restrictions in your work computer. Sorry to ask you again, but, could you provide us a screenshot similar to attached to learn about the error warning that you are getting?

    That doesn’t appear. There’s an X in place of the exclamation point in your screenshot. And nothing appears when I hover over it.

    I asked my IT folks, there aren’t any restrictions on installing software.

    #335335

    @mikeysc,

    Can you confirm if others systems have the same problem in your work? I know it should be frustrating to you but we are going to figure out!

    I will try it on another machine and see if it works.

    I happened to have a copy of the old 1.5.0 installer in a folder on my machine, so I used it. It installed fine. I then ran the 2.3.1 installer and it detected the older one and upgraded it without issue.

    I did some digging and came across a link for another of your products where someone had the same issue.

    https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/why-is-myeclipse-9-restricting-installation-directory-still/.

    So I’ve got a running MobiOne, which is good. I do still suspect that this partially an issue with the installer, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks..

    @mikeysc,

    Thanks for the follow up. I have shared this workaround with the team to see if they can figure out what goofed up.
