I cannot get to the Help|Software Updates|Check for Updates dialog: It errors out at the end with a message “Cannot find a solution satisfying the following requirements….”

This bit is from the log:

    tmccobb,

Thanks for the installation detail. I need some more information to understand the root cause.
    1. Have you installed any 3rd party plugins? Can you take a look at Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software and list them out here?
    2. Have you updated to pulse 2.4.2? If not I would recommend you to do that. Click on MyEclipse > Manage MyEclipse Plugins. This will list out Pulse update for 2.4.2. Click on [Install] and [OK].
    3. How did you install subversion from subclipse? Looks like there is a dependency conflict with your existing subversion plugin.
Were you in the process of adding a 3rd party plugin? Or have you added a 3rd party plugin recently? Can you verify the release notes of these plugins and check if the plugin is compatible with Eclipse 3.4.1? I understand that you are using ME 7.1.1, it is based on Eclipse Classic 3.4.1.

nWire, Tasktop, Drools, Subclipse, Mylyn, Spring IDE Mylyn support

I *think* I already did this. Pulse 2.4.2 does not show up on the Dashboard.

It was a while ago, but I am pretty sure it was just from the Subversion update site.

Tasktop and nWire have been updated from the dashboard within the last month, b ut Pulse worked since then.

    tmcobb,

Thanks for the details. I need to investigate if this is related to conflicts with subversion to any of the 3rd party plugin. I will have a dev team member investigate more on this. I will get back to you.

    Sorry for the inconvinience.

    tmcobb,

I had a look at the profile you have configured with the intent of providing a simple set of steps to fix the resolution problem. What I found is that you manually entered a few update sites and they’ve simply changed now are are no longer compatible with the latest release of Eclipse. What was simpler than fixing your profile was simply reconstructing a new one with the following steps, based on what you have configured:

    1) Start with a base profile of MyEclipse 7.1, drag it to ‘My Profiles’, and name it as appropriate
    2) From the software catalog within Pulse (or within MyEclipse’s “Add/Remove Software…” flow) add the following:
nWire, Drools, Subclipse (be sure to pick up the required items), Mylyn (don’t include integrations you don’t use like Jira, Trac, and Mantis)
    3) Launch the profile and verify it works fine.
    4) Add Tasktop using the update sites you already have configured.

I believe the above steps are the simplest way to get you going again. Please let us know if you have any other questions related to this. Also, if it would be helpful, I could share the profile I configured with Pulse with you, if that would be helpful. Just let me know.
