I have been trying MyEclipse 8.5 M2 under Linux 32-bit.
I have installed some plugins such as Chekstyle, Subclipse 1.6.x etc.
Now when updates came I cannot update MyEclipse. Everytime I get error such as:

Software being installed: MyEclipse 8.5 M2 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000004 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-627652-rmb-496048 2.0.0.0000000004)
Missing requirement: MyEclipse 8.5 M2 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000004 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-627652-rmb-496048 2.0.0.0000000004) requires ‘com.atlassw.tools.eclipse.checkstyle.feature.group 0.0.0’ but it could not be found

When I select to uninstall Checkstyle and try to update as previously error occurs agian… but this time not on Checkstyle but on… for example Subclipse.
What should I do? Uninstall all plugins and use only MyEclipse without plugins? Checkstyle and Subclipse are common plugins and normal Eclipse runs well.

Sorry to hear you are running into dependency issues. The best way to fix this is to use pulse. Please follow below mentioned steps –
1. Open Pulse. If you don’t have pulse, download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Login to pulse. If you don’t have a pulse login, you can also login anonymously.
3. Choose “Eclipse – Galileo” realm from the top left hand corner dropdown. This will redirect you to the pulse-explorer
4. From “My Profiles”. Right click on “MyEclipse 8.5 M2” and click on [Re-install and run]
Pulse will automatically fix any dependency issues. Let me know how this works for you.

I tired to do all you had written. But I even have exception doing it.
When I tried to re-install an run exception occurred:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed

Mark,

Have you added any 3rd party plugins to your ME profile? On select of “MyEclipse 8.5 M2”, select the software tab. Under My Software > Personal Software, it lists all the 3rd party plugins and/or features. There seem to be dependency conflict related to the 3rd party plugins. Can you list all your 3rd party plugins here.
