    Hi all,
    webclipse uses the inline search.

Before the latest updates when I press Ctrl+F, Ctrl+F,
    it open Classic Find/Replace…

Now it does not open the classic find/replace version.

Why? This is a big problem for me because the inline search version does not offer the same functionality.

    Davide,

We found that the double Ctrl + F behavior was glitchy and users would most likely prefer either one search type or the other. We’ve added a preference page (Window > Preferences > DevStyle > Inline Search) where you can disable the inline search, so that Ctrl + F will bring up the Classic Eclipse search.

Did you find yourself using both searches often?

    Hi Brian,
    thanks for the answer.

By default I like the inline search, sometimes I need the classic one just becase the classic one have the history of searched values.
Why don’t you add the history of searched values even in the inline search?

    Thanks.

    Davide,

Good to know – internally we do have the history implemented for inline search, but it did not make the cut for CI 11. We’ll try to prioritize this for the next release.
