Here is something driving me nuts on several occasions (I’m quite sure i’m not the only one), which, imho, could be easily implemented:
options for cleanup of certain directories at app server startup (e.g. for Tomcat):
    – temp
    – log
    – work

    Victor,
This hasn’t been requested before, and I’m not clear why normal operation of Tomcat is impeding your work like it is. What is the problem with those dirs not being cleaned out? (I’ve never had an issue with it. Occasionally I manually clean /work if I do an entire app rebuild just to make sure something is recompiled, but that’s it). The log files are all timestamped per my context config logger, and temp… I’m not sure what goes in there.

We’ve had few times problems reverting to older app versions, where the app server then didn’t compile the JSP files, becaue the timestamp of the restored JSP files was older than the one of the compiled ones… Very nasty, believe me. Seen it with both Tomcat and WebSphere.
