fragBaitMemberHi,
I’ve followed the special instructions to upgrade MyEclipse from 4.0.3 to 4.1GA, but I’m still not seeing any available updates (yes, I have my Install/Update settings set to ‘compatible’).
So the first thing I did, after searching the forums, was to close all perspectives and restart Eclipse with ‘-clean’ appended to shortcut. This had no effect.
The only thing I can think of where my installation might depart from any typical installation is that I’ve got MyEclipse installed to a custom directory outside of the eclipse installation. I then associated it with Eclipse by using the Product Configuration tool by adding an Extension Location and pointing it to the My Eclipse install directory.
One more thing, when I coose, Help/Software Updates/Find and Install/ and then select the ‘Search for new features to install’, I notice that there is no MyEclipse update site listed. Is this correct?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

GregMemberErik,

fragBaitMemberHi Greg,
I’m using Eclipse 3.1.1 and Sun JDK 1.4.2_08.

GregMemberMake sure that you have indeed set the Install/Update to “compatible” and then try the following:
– Go to Help > Software updates > Manage configuration…
– Then expand out the node that points to your myeclipse installation
– Then select “MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 4.0.3”
– Then click on “Scan for updates”I tested this locally with Eclipse 3.1.1 + ME 4.0.3. And it offered an update to 4.1.

fragBaitMemberWell, no luck. I got the same result. An alert stating no updates for the currently installed features.

Scott AndersonParticipantThis is really odd. I’d suggest one of two things. Either manually point to the update site using Help > Software Updates > Search for New Features to Install… and then select New Remote Site… and enter: http://downloads.myeclipseide.com/downloads/products/eworkbench/updates-4.0/
as the URL for the update site. Or, you can download the archived update site from the downloads section and then use New Archive Site… and point to the dowloaded file.In either case, please be sure that the wizard installs the new release *in the same location* as MyEclipse 4.0.3 is installed.

fragBaitMemberAlright. I’m all set.
Just so you know, the update site link above gave me the same result (no updates found). But downloading the Archived Update Site method worked like a charm. I’m not sure what I did that caused the other methods not to work. Oh well.
Thanks for all your help. It’s much appreciated.
