lolajlMemberI’ve been trying to download MyEclipse all day and I haven’t been able to get it to open successfully. Is there a straightforward download process other than BitTorrent that I can use, such as FTP? I don’t really like BitTorrent as it seems rather difficult to get a download in a reasonable amount of time.
lolajlMemberAlso, when I do get the package for 3.2 downloaded, OS X version, and I try to open it, nothing happens. Where do I get a clean, uncorrupted file that doesn’t require bittorrent?

Absolutely. On the download page, the link on the left hand side that says “Download Now” does an HTTP download. In fact, that’s how 90+% of our users download the product, not through the bittorrent link.

“3.2” refers to the Eclipse SDK version. Is that what you’re having trouble downloading, or MyEclipse 5.0, from our site? If MyEclipse, then the “Download Now” button should get you an installer most quickly via HTTP.
lolajlMemberOkay . . . I downloaded the file via Download Now. Clicked on it . . . still nothing happens. No error message or any sort of dialog – just – Nothing. Installer doesn’t run, period. This is the file that I downloaded: 3. MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench Version 5.0.1 GA for Mac OS/X (8/11/2006). I have Eclipse 3.2, and Java 1.4.2 and 1.5 installed.
What can I do to get it to run?
lolajlMemberAny answer to my problem with the installer not running?
Riyad KallaMemberlolajl,
Can you verify the size of the file against the size posted on the download page? It’s possible the download is corrupt. If the sizes are the same and the download is just failing to run, the fastest workaround for problems with the installer software is to download the Manual Install. Some more advanced users prefer thismethod because it’s a fairly straight forward 2-step process:
1) Unzip ZIP where you want MyEclipse to live
2) Use the Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration dialog to add the directory as an Eclipse extensionLet me know if you continue to have trouble.
lolajlMemberIt could very well have been that the download was corrupted. I’d downloaded it via Safari; this time I downloaded through FireFox and opened it with BOMArchiveHelper; worked like a charm.
Riyad KallaMemberI’m glad to hear it worked this time, I appreciate you trying that again (especially for such a big download).
