Attempting to debug a Web Project the MyEclipse prompts following message: “Failed to connect to remote VM. Connection refused.”

    Software vesions used
    MyEclipse 4.0
    Eclipse 3.1
    Tomcat 5.5
    JDK 1.5

Debug configuration of the project is configured as “Remote Java Application”

    Connection Properties
    Host: localhost
    Port: 8000

Can anybody give me a hint where to look at in order to solve the issue?

    Thank you in adnvace!

Please take a look at our web project tutorial: http://www.myeclipseide.com/images/tutorials/quickstarts/webprojects/

Specifically the section on debugging, I think you are making this harder than it needs to be. As long as you started your app server from MyEclipse, all you need to do is start setting break points, you don’t need to launch a remote debugging session.
