hi all

I have bought the full version of the last IDE MyEclipse but it does not show the error red sign on the package explorer yet when I open the class having the error, the editor works fine an shows the error.

I do not think it is to do with instalation but needs some editor error annotaion setting somehow but asu like here is the summery.

Hi amir55,
What view have you selected? Error annotations are only shown in the Package view, so if you are using the Navigator View, they wont show up.

Incase you are still facing the problem, can you PM me a screenshot including a link to the thread?

I do not know how to post an image!

but simply I use the package explorer and all old programs when a class faulty the red error sign is shown on it but not any new classes can show the error.

so tell me how to post the image so I can do it.

Hi amir,
I got the screen shot. Here are a few things for you to try:-
1) Create a new workspace using File > Switch Workspace, to something like C:\tempworkspace
2) Create a new Java project, put an error in the Java file… do you see the annotation in the package explorer?

If NOT, then it may be an installation problem. If you do, then you should switch back to his old workspace, then restart using -clean, if that doesn’t help it may be a configuration issue.

Another thing is how many errors are present in the project? MyEclipse could hit it’s limit and won’t show anymore. If the project has 1000s, this is likely the problem. Eclipse will stop processing errors if it hits too many.

thanks for your advice but I use myEclipse installer not command line so how I can ddd
-clean to myeclipse to run.

so if a matter of confifuration how can I do it.

yes when I create a new project it works fine but when I copy files to the project those are shown thier errors unless I create them via MyEclipse.

I have each time to open alll the files to see which one has errors. not practical as you know

Hi Amir,
You can add the *-clean* command to your eclipse.ini file which is located in the directory where eclipse is installed and then try restarting MyEclipse. Once the workspace has been cleaned, you can remove -clean from you eclipse.ini file.
