… here at work, I’m blocked from using the All In One installation. I’ve used the archived update before, but never when I had to also upgrade to a newer version of eclipse.

Are there steps to follow anywhere on the site? For example

    1) Install Eclipse 3.4
    2) Download the archived update
    3) etc.
    4) etc.

    Thanks,

    Doug Hurst

I see this below the archived update icon

“To use: be sure Eclipse 3.4 “Classic” is installed. Download the MyEclipse archived update then go to Help > Software Updates > Available Software > Add Site > Archive… > Select the archived update site you downloaded > OK. Select features “MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench” and any additional ones you descire like “Matisse4MyEclipse” and then click “Install…” following the install wizard to completion.”

My question is do you load Eclipse 3.4 then go to Help > Software Updates > Available… or do you load the old version of MyEclipse. I would assume it’s the new version of Eclipse 3.4, but just want to be sure.

Also, With 6.5/6.6, it looks like Eclipse 3.3 was loaded in a directory under the MyEclipse 6.5 directory? If I install Eclipse 3.4, won’t it be in it’s own directory? Won’t that mess-up where MyEclipse 7.0 goes when I install the archived update?

    Hey douglasmhurst,

Sorry for the confusion but we will be updating the documentation for how to install MyEclipse 7.0 using the ArchivedUpdateSite. I will give you the quick run down.
    1. download eclispe 3.4.1 SDK
    2. go to Help > software updates > available software > add site > archive > point to archived updatesite
    3. Select the top level checkbox to install everything from the archived updatesite.

Then edit the eclipse.ini to add these 2 lines to the file just above the -vmargs

    -product
    com.genuitec.myeclipse.product7.ide

    That should do it.

Thanks for your quick response. Please cancel. I was able to do the All in One, then used the Archived update for the Matisse, etc.
