I am trying to follow the tutorial on creating a simple struts application. However, when I try and create an action class, I am getting an error in the wizard telling me it can not find the super class for my new Action class. Isn’t the purpose of a wizard–knowing everything involed in the action?

My frustration level has peak with all these configuration issues within the work bench….Simple tutorials which unsure the workbench is configured properly would be very helpful and stop wasting my time hunting down solutions to configuration issues. Geez, I could spend more time learning the technology. What a concept.

Could someone throw me a bone, please….. CM is my push button! Can you tell?

    🙂

If you are having workbench configuration trouble, make sure that you have restarted eclipse at least once with a “-clean” argument to clear the configuration cache. Also, which wizard isn’t working? Did you get it working correctly?

Okay, I went back and restarted Eclipse with the -clean command instruction. Next I created a new WebProject and added Struts capability. Next I looked at the libraries for the project using the project’s properties. The libraries are there; however, in my earlier post, they were not. Next, I created an Action class using the wizard. It worked as designed with no error. I guess I can not duplicate the issue…….

    russray,
Adding the libraries is optional, it’s a checkbox at the bottom of the Wizard. If you possibly clicked or tab-spaced ontop of that field trying to get down to “Next” or “Finish”, it’s possible you just unchecked it and the libraries weren’t added.
