Is the JBoss IDE needed on top of MyEclipse if developing for JBoss? Or can MyEclipse do everything JBoss IDE can and more?

For example, EJB3, JSF, Seam, etc?

We do integrate portions of JBossIDE tightly with the ME product. We haven’t integrated the EJB3 or Seam support yet. I believe you should be able to install JBossIDE ontop of MyEclipse and have it mostly work… you may encounter conflicts but I’m not certain. Please let me know if you do.

I use eclipse 3.1 and myEclipse 4.1 30-day free trial, when I start jboss4.0.4 in myEclipse and “Jboss launch mode” is “debug”; I have to wait a long time, nearly 10 minutes or more, why ?

    leafhui,
Be sure to close all projects that you are not immediately using, that will help speed up the launch much faster. Because any file in any project is a valid target for a breakpoint, running in debug mode while all your projects are open causes *constant* evaluation of the files in all your projects for breakpoint targetting. You can speed this up by focusing on your single project.
