k1rfdMemberFollowing the example provided in the Help file for creating a new Web project and a new JSP, I cannot get Code Assist to work as expected. It also appears that syntax highlighting is not working right.
The response to ctrl-space is always “No completions available”, even in the example provided in Help with “<% out.” (the JSP created with Default JSP Template).
I suspect that syntax highlighting is also incomplete. The only words highlighted in this example are the word “import” in the @page tag, and string literals.
Syntax errors in the JSP are not identified until after having saved the changes to the file; however, this may be normal.
I read the other thread about JSP Code Assist, but this seems to be a more general and consistent problem.
One minor difference I noted is that after creating a JSP in the WebRoot folder, the icon in my Package Explorer is an un-decorated letter “J”. In the Help example, the icon is a “J” with a globe.
Thanks

Riyad KallaMemberCan you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can determine if this is an installation issue, a configuration problem, or a bug. Thanks.

k1rfdMemberThe Configuration Summary is pasted below.
More info: When I right-click a JSP file in the Package Explorer and choose Open With, the only choices listed are Java Editor, Text Editor, System Editor, In-Place Editor, and Default Editor. I do not see the MyEclipse editor(s) listed.

Riyad KallaMemberYour installation looks OK, but that is strange that you don’t see MyEclipse editor options, could you try and check for exceptions in your log file during startup to see if that sheds any light on the issue?

k1rfdMemberThere are no recent errors in the .log file.
I mis-spoke earlier. The Open With options for JSPs do include MyEclipse JSP Editor and JSP Designer, both of which seem to work as expected when chosen. So I think the only problem had been that the default for Open on JSPs was still “Java Editor”.
I was able to solve this by going to Preferences, General, Editors, File Associations and changing the default for .jsp to MyEclipse JSP Designer. Evidently this was not automatically set when I installed MyEclipse.
Thanks!
