I have a number of projects in my workspace and one of them just becomes a light blue folder like thing that cannot be opened. I am using Eclipse 3.1.0 and MyEclipse 4.0.3GA on windows XP. when I traverse into the project folder through the windows explorer, everything is there. How can I restore this project?

    Dean,

The icon you see is the icon used for a “closed” project, you might have closed it by accident. To open it, right click the project and choose “Open Project” from the context menu.

If you’ve already tried the above, and you’re receiving errors opening the project, please let us know.

    Best,
    Brian.

Right or left clicking does nothing.

    Dean,
Where are you right clicking the project – in the Package explorer view or the Navigator?

What happens when you right click? Absolutely nothing? There is a context menu for projects, you should see that on right click (perhaps you can click and open project and see what I’m talking about).
Just checking, did you move the project into a diferent folder or something using windows explorer?

Could you paste any relevant errors from your log over here?

    Best,
    Brian.

Package explorer view. Should it be Navigator? If so, how do I do that. I typically am using Package explorer most of the time. I know about the context menu, it works fine for all other projects. I did not move it on the file system. Where do I find the log?

    Dean,

The package explorer is fine. So the menu just does not show up for your project? or does it show up minus the Open Project option?

You could also try selecting the project and then use the Open Project option from Eclipse’s Project menu.

You will find your log at <workspace-directory>/.metadata/.log

    Best,
    Brian.

ok, opening from the project menu did it. apparently its because the cvs repository for that project is no longer there (but I still want to keep the code). strange. thanks!

Strange indeed. Glad it’s working now.

    Brian.
