I am in my companies IT department. I have been tasked with creating a deployment of myEclipse 5.1 in which no user interaction is required. I created a installer.properties file and included the line INSTALLER_UI=silent, but now when I run the install I get an error message.

Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported.

The installer cannot run in this mode. Please review the installer's documentation to deteremoine how to run this installer.

I have looked at the documentation online, but it does not cover the All-In-One installer. Can someone advise my how I can create a silent install for the All-In-One myEclipse installer?

For our enterprise customers that have needed to do this, they have always had success by using the manual install and automating it with their own mechanisms. At the moment we don’t build the installer to be used in silent mode but I can ask the team that works on the installer to see if this is something that can be fixed easily or not.

Having a silent install avaiable in the all-in-one installer would simplfy things for me greatly. Since adding it to the installation is just a setting within the InstallAnywhere deveopment environment I think it would be easy to provide.

I checked on it and the current installers simply were not built to allow headless installation. However, I’ve entered a bug report based on your feedback and we’ll correct that issue in 5.5 Milestone 2 at the end of February. Thanks for the feedback; we’ll get it taken care of for you. Sorry about the inconvenience in the meantime.

    Thanks for addressing this issue.

I find it strange that the install cannot be run silently, but the un-install can. I look forward to having both in the future.
